Oyo Government To Inaugurate 33 Newly Appointed Motor park Managers On Monday

The Oyo state government has announced its decision to appoint Motorpark Managers throughout the 33 local government areas of the state to collect revenue and remit it into the state account through a consultant that will be appointed in due course.

This was disclosed on Friday by the state Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transportation, Professor Raphael Afonja, while briefing the state house correspondents on the Government's plan to general IGR from the Transportation Sector.

He noted that the development is a radical change from the NURTW Architecture as the funds generated by the motor park managers will be remitted directly into the state account.

The Commissioner also debunked a report flying round that the Ministry of public works, infrastructures and transportation has issued an appointment letter to the chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Oyo State chapter, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxiliary as coordinator for the newly appointed Motor park Managers.

The Commissioner who ordered that all illegal collection of fees at motor parks in the state should be stopped, said the state government will partner with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to return sanity to its transport sector.
