How To Use Fingerprint Unlock On WhatsApp On My Android Phone

The popular messaging platform, WhatsApp now has the Fingerprint Unlock option for launching the app on Android devices. This is coming after WhatsApp unveiled Touch ID and Face ID for iPhone owners early this year. They are all added security for users that want them. In this article, you will learn how to use Fingerprint unlock on WhatsApp on your Android phone.

  1. Before anything else, head to your WhatsApp settings, seen in the top right corner of the app where the 3 vertical dots are.
  2. Click account, and then privacy.
  3. Way down on the privacy setting, you will see “fingerprint lock.” Click it, then activate “unlock with a fingerprint.”
  4. It will then prompt you to verify your identity by typing the fingerprint you enrolled to unlock your Android device.
  5. You will now be able to choose when WhatsApp will automatically lock. That could be after 1 minute, or after 30 minutes.
